Received this in an email and had to share:
Cup of Tea
One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me.
I was maybe 2 1/2 years old and had just recovered from an accident.
Someone had given me a little 'tea set' as a get-well gift and it was
one of my favorite toys.
Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I
brought Daddy a little cup of 'tea', which was just water. After several
cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home.
My Dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of
tea, because it was 'just the cutest thing!' My Mom waited, and sure
enough, here I come down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy and she
watches him drink it up.
Then she says, (as only a mother would know.. :)
'Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water
is the toilet?

Hahaha :)
I did get your blog comment after all! In reply, I personally just like tennis shoes. I haven't tried Klogs or any other kind of nursing-specific style, I think I'm too young and image conscious to try them out :) , but comfort is definitely a must! In my first rotation which was on a med-surg unit, I was sooo swamped and on my feet the entire time, and support hose really helped keep my legs from crumbling under me. Now I have time to sit and do my charting throughout my shift, so my legs get a break and I don't have a real need for the hose, but I do recommend them just in case!
And yes, Brian is my boyfriend! Coinkydinks are great :) There's a couple on a TV show Dirty Sexy Money named Andrea and Brian but they hate each other. Hahaha. Their son's name is Brian too! Ha! When we get married, once upon a time, and we have a kid, we want to name him Ryne (after Brian's favorite baseball player Ryne Sandberg), which sounds very much like Brian or Ryan. Hahaha.
